Hmm I haven't posted on here in awhile. I didn't really mean to stop posting, but I've been stupidly busy the last two years.
I guess in general terms, I'm moving to Edmonton in late August to do my PhD. It's pretty crazy, and I have mixed emotions about it. Winnipeg is my home, and all my friends/family are here. So it will be hard living in a place where I don't know anyone :/ On the flip side, I'm really excited to start what I hope is the final stage of my education. It's pretty crazy, to think once I'm completed I will have spend 10 years in university. A third of my life! Yikes.
My research really has two tiers. There is the official academic stuff, and then there is the sort of dirty/messy activism research that I conduct as well. There are many social and structural issues that really need to be examined and discussed in the open. Unfortunately, the mass media does not inform people very well, and we're sort of left to our own devices. To seek out alternative information whenever we can.
I'm not really sure where I'll be teaching once I'm finished. I think my top three choices are Winnipeg, Vancouver and Ottawa.
We also got a kitten last november. We named him "Nibiru" as a sort of inside joke. It's actually the sumerian name for Jupiter (I think). We also call him Nibbles and Nibbler. He's such a sweetheart, we baby him like a child. It's quite funny really :p
Hmm, I think that's about all. I really should get back to writing, otherwise I'll have no reason to move in a couple months ;)

I've been insulted enough, and honestly, I don't care anymore. This is more important that my so called integrity, and you really need to take this seriously and inform yourself on what is going on behind the scenes in our world.

Total Solar Eclipse in Canada August 01 2008
I'm not exactly sure if we'll be able to see it! I really hope it will be visible here, but it might be too far north. Should get a partial view tho eh? I'll have to ask my sister. Need some special eye protection too, sunglasses don't cut it lol.
I have a bit more reading to do I guess, but I'm trying to do my thesis atm. So I really should get back to that.

During an SPP protest an elder taught us to sing 'a we n' de yauh ho', and this was a defining moment for me. I hope to sing it again with more people, soon hopefully.
